Why now?
With Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) becoming mandatory this week ensuring developments are contributing to wildlife recovery is at the forefront of everyone's mind. The legislation, which requires schemes to ensure that habitats for wildlife are in measurable better state after the development than they were before, is the biggest change to planning regulations in decades.
Building with Nature standards are consistent with and compliment planning policy in England regarding delivering Green Infrastructure; helping to reduce planning risk by ensuring developments are aligned with current and emerging policy themes for climate change, nature recovery and people’s wellbeing.
